| Last Saturday, Oct. 28, was David's and my anniversary. 17 years! Thank you Cheryl for the card. We went out to see the movie, "Prestige", went to Lowe's and bought grass, then ate at Claim Jumper's. It was a nice evening out. James was excited to get his braces taken off on, Monday, Oct. 30. That morning I made caramel apples to take to the orthodontist, and staff. There was plenty of caramel left for the family, and James was glad that now he could eat the apples, and caramel. Ellen's braces will come off the beginning of December. I guess that is all for now. | | |
| Do you like the new look? I haven't had much time to sit and play on the computer, but decided I could take a little time this evening. Thanks Cheryl for all the blogging you do to keep us current with what is going on in your family. I'm still trying to keep a healthy eating regimen, but find the need to keep up with supplements. I'm still working with Teresa, and she says she is feeling a little better. I'll have to work with her some more. James and Ellen had a great time at the Dodger's game. Just like last year, our group was up on the big screen quite a bit, even though we aren't a big group. Our leader is just really good at putting together demonstrations. He doesn't focus on level of difficulty, just what looks good to the audience. You asked about the kittens. Well, the night we came back from the Hapkido demonstration the two that were left were gone. We really think the mom found her opportunity to come back and get them. The kids were very disappointed, because they thought they would be allowed to keep at least one. Oh well, they do believe that God knows what he is doing, and if they are meant to have one, it will come back. Since then we have taken school pictures, and went to Riley's Farm in Oak Glen. Our field trip to Oak Glen was a lot of fun. We made apple cider, square danced, took a hay ride, dipped candles, fed animals, and ate BBQ. This last weekend we went to Las Vegas. David left on Saturday, but the kids and I didn't go until Sunday. On Saturday I had a reservation for tea at Martha Green's Eating Room in Redlands, and I forgot to cancel, so I had to take advantage of it. We visited with David's mom, sister, and the kids cousins. Their cousin Natalie took them to the amusement park at Circus Circus. When they arrived it was decorated, and the theme for the night was Halloween. They've never done anything like that before, and eventhough they said they had fun, they said they don't think they would go again. We haven't ever been prudish about the day, but have never glorified it either. I guess that's all for now. Our regular days are just filled with the norm of school, and work. | | |
| It's the first fall Saturday of the year, but it looks like it will be a warm, summer like day. We are back to school, and have had our second park day with our home school group. Looks like I'll be doing our yearbook again this year. I was a little discouraged last year when there wasn't very much participation in purchasing the yearbook. Everyone seemed to like it, so maybe we'll have more participation this year. Our first home school field trip was to the Los Angeles County Fair. We had a great time. The exhibits were the best in quite a few years, and thank God my kids don't like carnival rides. The week before last we found kittens under our shed. I probably would have left them there, but they seemed a couple of months old, and looked healthy. They are also very cute. We took them to our last home school park day, and they were a hit. If dads could be convinced we probably would not have come home with any, but only one dad could be convinced as moms and kids were on the cell phone trying to be persuasive. Today we will go to Los Angeles to see the Dodgers play. James and Ellen will be part of a demonstration for their Karate group before the game. The game doesn't start until 7:10 p.m., so we'll go early and hang out at Universal City Walk for a while and eat. That's all for now, Web you later! | | |
| Ok, my sister-in-law thinks I'm getting the hang of this, but I don't. Nothing exciting lately. Today I'm having lunch with my cousin-in-law, Teresa. We were going to have tea, but the tea room was booked when I tried to make reservations yesterday. Instead we are going to Olive Garden. I have a gift card. Maybe we will go to tea around her birthday in October. I'm trying to get my health in order, so I ordered some supplements from a company called ReNew Life. A Dr.?, I'm not sure she is actually a doctor, Brenda Watson has a PBS program that talks about having a healthy digestive system. I'm sure I don't. We'll see how they work. I'm going to put Teresa on them too. She feels worse than I do. I hope they work. | | |
| I was supposed to work today but, didn't. I was doing a consultation with a computer program, but my client was sick. I'm home, and my accomplishments today have been: Bible devotion, and reading, playing Cubis (I'm hooked), lunch, and a load of laundry. The kids have finished school work and are watching "Winn Dixie". That's when I discovered my sister in-law's post. I read it, and decided I needed to write something. I don't have the hang of this, and it will take me some time. | | |
